Animal Re-home Services - ARS had
already been very successful in finding new homes for abandoned animals.
If you have the resources to maintain a pet, it is more rewarding to have
adopted an animal from the shelter rather than buying one. Adoption of
these animals will help one more life to survive the process of being
put down.
To be honest, every time when we see the adoptee bring
the poor animal home, we really thank them from the bottom of our hearts.
Even thought the animals had been treated badly before, but in our hearts,
each and every one of them are still treasures to us. They need to rely
on human to survive, and in turn we should treat them with respect. We
should keep up the hard work.
Therefore, please act now. Volunteering in any of the above areas is much
appreciated. You can be sure that gratitude is felt deep inside their
souls for the help that you have provided.

01. Requirement for animal adoption

The Adoptee must be of age 21 or above. |
| 2. |
The Adoptee must submit an “Animal adoption form”
and provide to us at the submission of the form, two different proves
proving your place of residence. The proof provided to us must be
dated within 3 months of the submission of the application for. |

The Adoptee must provide us with a copy of his/her
person identification card and provide us with an original copy of
his/her residential history for identification and record purposes. |

If the adopter’s residence or place of stay does
not allow or provide for a pet to stay in the establishment, then
the application will be rejected. |
| 5. |
A donation is required to be made before an adoption
will be granted. Donations are to be made to at any of our shelters.
The minimum donations shall be 1 bag of food. The price of the donated
dog food must not cost less than HKD160 or in the case of cat food,
no lower than HKD249. |

All adopted animals will have to be de-sexed, vaccinated
and registered before the Adoptee can be granted the ownership of
the animal. A registration and rabies vaccination only applies to
dogs. |
| 7. |
If an animal older than 8 months old, and had been
de-sexed but has not had its vaccinations, the adopter must pay a
deposit of HKD440 for 2 vaccinations. After vaccinations have been
completed and we receive from you a certification from a vet surgeon
certify the adopted animal had been vaccinated, the HKD440 paid us
deposit will be refunded. |

If the animal is less than 8 months old and not
a mongrel, a deposit of HKD1000 is required. If the adopted animal
is a mongrel then a deposit of HKD600 is required. Vaccinations, de-sexing
and registration of these animals shall be completed once they reach
the age of 8months old otherwise we have the right to gain possessory
and ownership rights over the animal and keep the deposit. If the
above requirements are satisfied (vaccinations, de-sexing and registration
of the animal) before the animal reach the age of 8 months old, the
deposit monies (being either HKD1000 or HKD600, depending on the breed)
will be refunded. |

If the adopted animal had already been de-sex and
vaccinated and registered prior to adoption, then the Adoptee must
pay the following fees. All fees paid or donated will be given to
the furtherance of other animals in the animal shelters. |
| 10. |
For those person who adopted animals from our Society,
they may obtain a discount of 15% at designated clinic for their animal¡¦s
desexing, first registration fee and first annual vaccination. When
attending these clinics, the Adoptee must provide proof to proof the
animal was adopted from ARS. |
In general, we encourage interested parties to visit the animal before
deciding on adoption. This way, these animals that had been abandoned
before would really get the owner who¡¦d take care and love
them forever.
Please submit your application form with 2 copies of your 3 months residential
and submit to:
1. Our volunteer; or
2. By post to Fo Tan Post Office PO Box 460, please state ¡§Application
for adoption of animal¡¨ on the envelope; or
3. Save the form and necessary document in Word file and send to adoption@ars.org.hk
